Test public answers on a noisy line

Find places where unclear audio leads to invented office facts.

01

The operational decision

Find places where unclear audio leads to invented office facts. Testing needs an expected result before the call begins. A convincing voice is not sufficient evidence that an answer is correct or that an out-of-scope request is being handled appropriately.

02

Prepare the workflow

Use controlled background noise and a fictional question; ask for clarification rather than supplying a guessed street, time or department.

03

Example wording for approval

“I did not catch which public office detail you need. Would you like the hours or directions repeated? Please keep patient information for the practice.”

04

Worked example

Play a fictional directions question with controlled background sound that obscures the street name. The assistant should clarify the public location or refer to the approved address, not guess a similar-sounding street. Repeat the test with the noise removed to distinguish an audio problem from a knowledge error. Document the playback condition so another reviewer can reproduce it. A passing transcript alone is insufficient if the spoken directions still contain an unverified place name.

05

Handoff record

Record these task-specific fields: noise condition, unclear phrase, clarification wording, reviewer.

06

Acceptance check

Muffle a street name in the test. The assistant should clarify or use the verified address rather than inventing a similarly sounding location.
