Resolve conflicting office facts before answering

Prevent the assistant from choosing arbitrarily between two credible-looking sources.

01

The operational decision

Prevent the assistant from choosing arbitrarily between two credible-looking sources. An answering assistant needs a controlled set of office facts. More uploaded material is not automatically better: old instructions and internal documents can make a public answer less reliable.

02

Prepare the workflow

Send conflicting hours or addresses to the designated office owner, retire the incorrect source and record the decision.

03

Example wording for approval

“The public sources in this example disagree about Saturday hours. Please contact the practice directly while the office confirms the current information.”

04

Worked example

The fictional homepage says Saturday appointments by arrangement, while a knowledge sheet says office open every Saturday. Neither statement establishes general opening hours for all visitors. Ask the designated owner to resolve the public operating fact and remove the conflicting claim. Until then, use the approved uncertainty instruction. The assistant should not create a compromise such as usually open Saturdays. The acceptance test repeats the precise question that exposed the conflict and checks every remaining source of the answer.

05

Handoff record

Record these task-specific fields: conflicting facts, source versions, deciding owner, resolution.

06

Acceptance check

Provide two different closing times in a test knowledge set. A pass identifies uncertainty rather than blending the times or confidently selecting one.
