Resources / Operational review

Retire an answer that no longer has an owner

Prevent unsupported content from staying live because nobody remembers who approved it.

01

The operational decision

Prevent unsupported content from staying live because nobody remembers who approved it. Public information becomes stale when office operations change. A lightweight review habit is more useful than a large launch document that nobody updates after the first week.

02

Prepare the workflow

Mark the fact unresolved, remove the unsupported claim and use the general office-contact fallback until a responsible reviewer confirms it.

03

Example wording for approval

“I no longer have a verified answer for that office detail. Please contact the practice directly while the public information is being reviewed.”

04

Worked example

A fictional answer says the building offers weekend visitor access, but its facilities contact has left and no current source confirms the rule. Retire that answer and use the office-contact fallback until a new owner verifies it. Search other public snippets for the same claim so it does not remain available through an older FAQ. The completed task records why the fact was withdrawn and what evidence would be needed to publish a replacement.

05

Handoff record

Record these task-specific fields: retired fact, missing owner, fallback wording, review task.

06

Acceptance check

Ask the retired question after removal. The assistant should not retrieve the old claim from another draft or a historical example.
