Handle a same-day office-information correction

Correct a wrong fact quickly while keeping the approval trail clear.

01

The operational decision

Correct a wrong fact quickly while keeping the approval trail clear. Public information becomes stale when office operations change. A lightweight review habit is more useful than a large launch document that nobody updates after the first week.

02

Prepare the workflow

Identify the source of truth, replace the incorrect answer and test the exact question that exposed the problem.

03

Example wording for approval

“The example visitor entrance has changed for today. Use the approved temporary directions; the earlier instruction is withdrawn until the office confirms restoration.”

04

Worked example

At the fictional office, a sign now directs visitors to a different public entrance. The operator obtains approval, updates the directions source and repeats the exact question that previously produced the wrong route. They also check the website card using the same fact. If the phone answer changes but the card does not, the correction remains incomplete. The record should show the effective time so staff can distinguish the old instruction from the newly approved one.

05

Handoff record

Record these task-specific fields: affected answer, approving role, effective time, retest result.

06

Acceptance check

Ask the original question after the correction. Confirm that old wording is absent from both the spoken answer and any public page using it.
